EXCURSIONS
 

Various activities and excursions are offered during the year at the various locations. A monthly programme of activities is available to the students including visits to museums, monuments, evening outings to live music concerts, bars, and Saturday half-day visits to points of interest. These activities are included in the course fee, and are subject to a minimum number of inscriptions.   Also available are full-day Sunday excursions and typical dinners, at an extra cost, to be paid locally, also subject to a minimum number of inscriptions. Students are accompanied by monitors who turn all these activities into pleasant experiences of Portuguese culture. You may even decide to develop your own excursion plans to closeby cities such as, 

From Lisbon: Faro, Madrid, Seville, and even to Morocco.

From Faro: Cadiz, Lisbon, Gibraltar, Madrid, Seville, and even to Morocco.

This optional service is offered at a cost for One-way from/to arrival or departure spot in Portugal. A representative meets and takes the student to/from accommodation chosen. Please forward travel information at least 3 weeks in advance

STUDENT SERVICES
 

At the school there is a Student Service that will advise and help students not only in case of problems or doubts related with the Course, the Accommodation or the Social and Extra-Curricular Programme, but also with any other aspect of their stay in Portugal.

LODGING OPTIONS
 
NIK-LAS offers lodging options during your stay in Portugal while you are taking part in one of our courses. The school is reached either by foot or by public transport, never more than a 20 min. ride. Shopping facilities are a short distance away. Electricity, gas and water are included.
 

Single Room (SR) - Private room.

Double Room (DR) - Shared Room between two students traveling together.
Suggestions: Take extra care with your behavior; moderate noise to a low level at night; respect host family schedule and customs. In short, demonstrate self- responsibility.
Shared Apartments

Apartments are furnished in simple Portuguese style with a fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, living room with television, iron and 1 or 2 bathrooms. There are no telephones available in apartments. These 2, 3, or 4 Bedroom apartments are shared with other international students and/or locals so students can cook their own food and manage food budget. Bed linens are provided. However, you will need to bring towels and own personal toiletries. Room in an apartment shared with Portuguese people, with access to all communal areas of the house (kitchen, bathroom and living room) and, together, keep the place clean. Single or double rooms options.

Homestay/Host Family

Staying with a Portuguese Family is rewarding, in that, it encourages the natural use of every-day Portuguese. This helps to improve your language skills. Private home accommodation is an important part of most students' stay. Carefully selected homes will offer you much more than just accommodation and breakfast. Living in a Portuguese home will help students gain familiarity with the language. Your host may be a family or individual. Students are placed in individual bedrooms and will be the only native speaker of their language in the house. Bed linens are provided. However, you will need to bring towels and own personal toiletries.
